Validating Imports
Using the Validation Tool makes it easier to understand when a conversion is successful.
User Interface Location: In the Model Tree, right-click the model or component and select Import Validation.
Release: Creo Parametric 4.0
Benefits and Description
You can watch a video that demonstrates this capability.
From the Import Validation Tool dialog box, you can compare key characteristics of native and converted data during import or open workflows. You can investigate original and calculated values with persistent parameters created during the first conversion and then recalculated during update. Model validation includes surface areas and center of gravity. Component validation includes solidification failures, import failures, and missing components.
You are notified of import problems through the Notification Center. To investigate the results, in the Model Tree, right-click the model or component and select Import Validation to open the Import Validation Tool dialog box. You can change settings and rerun to update the results. Results are reported for individual models and there is also an aggregated assembly summary. With the Import Validation Tool, you can quickly understand conversion success for non-native CAD models.
