What's New: Creo Parametric 4.0 > Part Modeling (Sketcher, Part, Creo Flexible Modeling) > Enhanced Datum Plane Creation

Enhanced Datum Plane Creation
You can create a midplane between selected references with the enhanced Plane tool.
User Interface Location: Click Model > Plane.
Release: Creo Parametric 4.0
Benefits and Description
You can watch a video that demonstrates this capability.
The Plane tool is enhanced to make it easier to understand how you can change constraints. Click Model > Plane to open the Datum Plane dialog box. Next to the reference, click the arrow to see a list of applicable constraints from which you can select. New constraint types are added so that you can create a midplane between two references. For a pair of planar references, the Midplane option is automatically selected as the default.
Depending on the geometric situation, the midplane is created parallel to the references or in direction of one of the bisectors. You can select the Bisector 1 or Bisector 2 options, respectively. These reference pairs can include the following objects:
Planar surfaces or datum planes
A datum, cylinder or cone axis and linear curve or edge
Datum points, coordinate systems or vertices
This makes it easier and faster to define datum planes especially in conjunction with operations such as Mirror.
