To Trim or Extend a Chain
Adjust chain length in the graphics window or in the Chain dialog box.
To Trim or Extend a Chain in the Graphics Window
1. Make sure the Surface tab is open.
2. Select the chain to be modified in the graphics window or from the Primary chain collector on the References tab.
3. Perform one of the following operations:
Drag the handle on the chain's end, and hold down SHIFT to snap it to a reference.
Right-click the drag handle and choose Extend To or Trim At from the shortcut menu, and then select a reference.
Double-click the drag handle offset value, and type a new value in the box.
The chain is adjusted.
To Trim or Extend a Chain in the Chain Dialog Box
1. Make sure the Surface tab is open.
2. Click References. The References tab opens.
3. Under Primary, click Details. The Chain dialog box opens.
4. Select a chain to modify from the list.
5. Click Options. The Options tab opens.
6. Under Length Adjustment select a parameter from the box for End 1, End 2, or both.
7. For Value parameters, type a value in the box. For reference parameters, select a reference.
8. To designate the chain start point, select the Start Point check box.
9. To reverse the chain direction, click Flip.
10. Click OK.
