To Create Independent Geometry and Access Scan Tools
1. Open a part without independent geometry features.
2. Click Model > Get Data > Independent Geometry. An empty independent geometry feature is created and is displayed with its feature ID on the Model Tree.
3. Click Geometry > Sample Data from File on the Independent Geometry tab that opens. The Import Raw dialog box and the GET COORD S menu open.
4. Click High Density or Low Density on the Import Raw dialog box and select a coordinate system on the Model Tree or the part.
5. Browse and select a *.iges, *.vda, or a *.ibl file with curve or surface data in the Open dialog box.
6. Click OK on the Exit tab of the Independent Geometry tab. The Independent Geometry tab displays the following buttons:
—Import DataDoctor
—Scan Tools
7. Click to enter the Scan Tools environment.
