Running a Structural Simulation—Creo Simulation Live
Run a structural simulation to calculate deformations and stresses on your model in response to specified loads and subject to specified constraints.
Simulation Inputs
To run a structural simulation you must define the following minimum inputs:
A material for the model
At least one of the following displacement constraints:
One or more surfaces designated as fixed supports.
A displacement constraint for one or more surfaces.
A frictionless constraint applied to one or more surface.
One or more of the following loads:
A pressure load applied to at least one surface.
A force load applied to at least one surface.
A moment load applied to at least one surface.
A gravity load for the model.
A centrifugal load for the model.
To Run a Structural Simulation
1. Open a model or create a new model. Click Live Simulation to open the Live Simulation tab. A structural simulation study is created by default. It is displayed in the Model Tree with the name Structure1. You must specify inputs for this simulation study.
2. Define a material for the model if there is no material assigned.
3. Define a constraint for a surface.
4. Define a load for a surface.
5. Click Live Simulation > Result Options to select the type of result that you want to view.
6. Click Live Simulation > Start to start live simulation.
