Displacement Constraint—Creo Simulation Live
A displacement constraint creates an enforced translation displacement in a specified direction for a selected surface. Applying a displacement constraint on a surface is similar to applying a load to a surface.
To Define a Displacement Constraint
1. Click Live Simulation > Displacement. The Displacement Constraint dialog box opens.
2. Enter a descriptive name or accept the default name. Click the color swatch adjacent to Name if you want to change the color of the icon, the distribution, or the text of the constraint.
3. Select a surface of the model. Your selection appears in the References collector.
4. Enter a value for Translation in the X- Y- or Z- direction. You can enter a value, mathematical expression, or parameter name in this field. The value should be in length units for translation constraints.
5. Select the units of displacement from the list or accept the default units.
6. Click OK to create and save the displacement constraint.
