Creating Weighted Links
Click Refine Model > Weighted Link to open the Weighted Link Definition dialog box to create a weighted link. Assign the weighted link a name and specify the following on the Weighted Link Definition dialog box to fully define the weighted link:
Independent Side—Specify the location of the target entities that receive a mass or load distributed from a source point. If you have selected valid geometric references for the independent side before opening the dialog box, your selections appear in the references collector when the Weighted Link dialog box opens. Otherwise, choose the geometric reference entity for the independent side after the dialog box opens.
CSYS—Select a Cartesian UCS and the selected UCS appears in the CSYS collector. WCS is the default.
Degrees of Freedom—Specify the degrees of freedom for the independent reference entity. In the native mode, you can only specify translational degrees of freedom.
Dependent Side—Select a point or vertex for the distribution of the applied load or mass.
If you change the references or delete a weighted link that is meshed, Creo Simulate automatically erases the mesh.
Creo Simulate displays the weighted link that you have created with a weighted link icon on the model. A weighted link created in the native mode is also available in the FEM mode.
