About the Capture Dialog Box
Use the Capture dialog box (click on the animate toolbar) to save your animation as an mpeg or an avi file, or as a series of jpeg, tiff or bmp files. You can set the following options:
Name—Accept the default name or type another one.
Type—Accept the default (mpeg) or choose another format.

If you select a format other than mpeg or avi, the animation is saved as a series of files. Click Time Domain to change the frame order.
Use external animation software to create an animation from the individual frames.
You can set the compression rate if you use the avi format.
Image size—The default Width and Height values are the dimensions of the current graphics window (excluding the timeline and the navigation pane). These values do not change if you resize the graphics window while the Capture dialog box is open.

* Click View > Model Setup > Render Control to set photorender options in Assembly Mode before you capture an animation. For more information, search for photorender in the Help Center.
Lock aspect ratio—When selected, preserves the width-to-height ratio when you resize the graphics window.
Photorender frames—When selected, activates photorendering while an animation is recorded.
Frame rate—Type a variable to set the frame rate for an avi or an mpeg file.
Compression—When using the avi format, select Select from list to open the Video Compression dialog box. Select a video setting from the list and then set the compression rate, or accept the default Uncompressed.

Compression settings cannot be undone once an animation has been captured.
An avi capture can fail for many reasons. Make sure that all compression settings have been correctly configured or consult the relevant software.
Click OK to begin recording.
