About Creating Line Segments Based on Sketched Geometry
To create pipeline segments by referencing a sketch, click Follow > Follow Sketch. You may find this routing action useful when routing a pipeline with respect to equipment or some structural elements, provided the new segments lie in the same plane.
When using this routing technique, remember these points:
Following sketched geometry does not create a connection between the existing pipe end and new sketched segments even if both endpoints are aligned. To join two endpoints (even if they are immediately on top of each other), use the To Pnt/Port or Connect buttons after finishing the sketched sections.
You do not have to add bend radii or miter corners to sketched geometry. The system does this automatically.
