To Change the Origin of the Fill Pattern
1. Select the feature that you want to pattern and click
Model >
Pattern. The
Pattern tab opens.
2. Set the pattern type to fill by selecting Fill from the list of pattern types. The layout of the tab changes.
3. Click the References tab, and click Define. Sketch the area to be filled by the pattern. Alternatively, select an existing sketch.
4. Select the required template type from the list. The default grid type is
square.
|  You can select a grid from the template box only after you select or sketch the area to be filled by the pattern. |
5. Click the Options tab, and select the Use alternate origin check box. The origin collector becomes active.
6. Select a datum point in the graphics window as the alternative origin.
You can select any one of the following as the alternative origin:
◦ Datum point
◦ Coordinate system
◦ A vertex
◦ Sketched curve end
| You can only select features created before the pattern leader as the alternative origin. |
7. Click
. The selected feature is patterned based on the alternative origin specified.
