Example: Type of Reference for Reference Patterns
This example shows the Reference patterns that result from selecting different reference types.
1. Create an extrude.
2. Pattern the extrude, in this case using an axis pattern.
3. Create an Axis pattern of the previous pattern.
4. Create a hole that references the extrude that is used as the pattern leader in the first pattern.
5. Select the hole and click
Pattern >
Pattern. The
Pattern tab opens.
6. Select a Reference type to create the following patterns:
◦ Feature—References the feature pattern.
◦ Group—References the pattern groups that are patterned by the top-level feature.
◦ Both—Reference both the feature pattern and the pattern groups that are patterned by the top-level feature.
