Example: Draft Surface Not Perpendicular to Pull Direction
The purpose of the Exclude areas with draft option is to exclude from the Draft feature the areas where the angle between the draft surface and the pull direction is ≥ greater than or equal to the draft angle. It is used when both these conditions exist:
• Draft surface is not perpendicular to the pull direction
• Angle between at least part of the draft surface and the pull direction is ≥ greater than or equal to the draft angle
In this example, we draft a boss that is not perpendicular to the surface that defines the pull direction. The draft angle is 3°. The angle between the draft surface and the pull direction is greater than 3°.

When the Exclude areas with draft option is not selected, the draft surfaces change their position so that they are perpendicular to the pull direction.
Resulting draft feature:
When the Exclude areas with draft option is selected, then one side of the draft surface is excluded from the Draft feature, and it remains in the same place. The other side of the draft surface changes position so that it is perpendicular to the pull direction. The Draft feature blends the areas of the draft surfaces around the boss. All the draft surfaces will have a draft angle of at least 3°.
