To Create a Profile Rib Feature by Creating an Internal Section
1. Click Model, click the arrow next to Rib, and click Profile Rib. The Profile Rib tab opens.

* You could also select a sketch first, or select a datum plane or planar surface first, and then click Model, click the arrow next to Rib, and click Profile Rib.
2. Click the References tab.
3. Click Define. The Sketch dialog box opens.

* You can also use Define Internal Sketch from the shortcut menu.
4. Sketch the desired side-section and click OK. Sketcher closes and the Rib tool resumes. Preview geometry appears in the graphics window and a direction arrow indicates the sketch side to fill.
5. If you want to change the fill side, click the direction arrow. The arrow indicates the fill side. You can also click Flip on the References tab or from the shortcut menu (pointer over the arrow and right-click).
6. Define the thickness of the rib by dragging the handle to the desired distance. By default the thickness is symmetrical about the sketching plane. If you want to thicken only one side of the sketching plane, place your pointer over the thickness handle, right-click, and choose Symmetric from the shortcut menu. This clears the check mark. You can then drag the handle to change define the thickness.

* You can also define the rib thickness by entering a value in the dimension box in the graphics window or on the Profile Rib tab.
7. Click . The Profile Rib feature is completed.
