About Embedding Hole Files into a Part Model
When you share a part model that contains Standard holes created using customized hole files with other people, the hole parameters may change according to the default hole files available with them, thereby changing the Standard holes in the model. To avoid such a change of the hole parameters, you must embed hole files in the part model and then share that part model. Such embedding of hole files enables you to preserve customized hole parameters in the model.
You can set the hole_file_resolution configuration option to use_internal to enable the Hole tool to embed hole files in a part model, or you can set it to replace_with_external to enable the Hole tool to refer to external hole files.

* After you embed hole files in a part model, resetting the hole_file_resolution configuration option to replace_with_external makes the Hole tool ignore embedded hole files and refer to external hole files for any new Standard holes that are created or any existing Standard holes that are redefined.
You can embed hole files only for new or redefined Standard holes, and for any Standard hole, you can embed only one version of the hole file.
You can embed only those hole files that have been used in the part model and not all the hole files that you have customized. After the hole file is embedded in a part model, you cannot make any changes in the corresponding embedded hole files.
