To Create a Datum Curve Using a Cross Section
You can create a curve from an existing planar cross section along the intersection between the cross section boundary with the part outline. Three workflows are possible: action-object, object-action, and View Manager.
Action-Object Workflow
1. Click Model > Datum > Curve > Curve from Cross Section. The Curve tab opens.
2. In the Cross section list, select the cross section to use to create the curve.
 
* You cannot use a boundary from an offset cross section to create a datum curve.
3. Click .
 
* If a cross section has more than one chain, each chain has a composite curve.
Object-Action Workflow
1. If required, make the cross section visible in the graphics window:
a. Open the View Manager dialog box by performing one of the following actions:
Click View Manager on the graphics toolbar.
Click View > Manage Views > View Manager.
b. Click the Sections tab.
c. Under Names, select the cross section to make visible.
d. Click Options.
e. Select the Show Section check box.
2. In the graphics window, select a cross section.
3. Perform one of these actions:
Right-click and choose Create a Curve from the shortcut menu.
Click Model > Datum > Curve > Curve from Cross Section.
View Manager Workflow
1. Open the View Manager dialog box by performing one of the following actions:
Click View Manager on the graphics toolbar.
Click View > Manage Views > View Manager.
2. Click the Sections tab.
3. Under Names, select the cross section to use to create the curve.
4. Right-click and choose Curve from xsec from the shortcut menu.
