About the Mirror Geometry Feature User Interface
The Mirror Geometry tab consists of a tab with a collector, tabs, and shortcut menus.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access shortcut menu commands.
Mirror Items—Collects the geometry to mirror.
Mirror curves and datums—Collects curves and datums to mirror.
Mirror Plane—Collects the plane to mirror about.
Bounding edges—Collects edges that act as boundaries for geometry.
Splitting surfaces—Splits surfaces shared by two solids when only one solid is mirrored.
Extending surfaces—Extends a surface to the moved geometry.
Clear—Clears the active reference collector.
Transform selected attachment rounds/chamfers—Mirrors the selected rounds and chamfers that attach the mirrored geometry to the model. If not checked, the selected attaching rounds and chamfers are removed and optionally recreated.
Attach mirrored geometry—Attaches the mirrored geometry to geometry in the mirrored location.
Create Round/Chamfer Geometry—Recreates rounds or chamfers after mirroring geometry.
Next—Finds the next possible solution.
Previous—Finds the previous solution when there are multiple solutions.
Maintain solution topology—Fails regeneration when the model changes and the same solution type can not be reconstructed.
Collector
Mirror plane collector—Collects the plane to mirror about.
Tabs
Use the tabs to add rule-based surface sets, and select chains for attachment options.
References—Shows the Surfaces to mirror, Curves and datums to mirror, and the Mirror plane.
Transform selected attachment rounds/chamfers check box—Mirrors the selected rounds and chamfers that attach the mirrored geometry to the model. If not checked, the selected attaching rounds and chamfers are removed and optionally recreated.
Attachment—Shows options for attaching mirrored geometry to the original geometry.
Attach mirrored geometry (default)—Attaches the mirrored geometry to geometry in the mirrored location.
Create round/chamfer geometry (default)—Recreates rounds or chamfers after mirroring geometry.
Bounding edges—Collects edges that act as boundaries for geometry. Click Details to open the Chain dialog box.
Next—Finds the next solution when there are multiple solutions.
Previous—Finds the previous solution when there are multiple solutions.
Maintain solution topology—Fails regeneration when the model changes and the same solution type can not be reconstructed.
Options—Provides the following options.
Extending surfaces—Collects extending surfaces to be split.
Splitting surfaces—Collects the surface to extend when splitting surfaces.
Flip—Switches between the split surfaces.
Properties—Shows the name of the feature. Click to display information in the browser.
