About the Geometry Search Tool User Interface
The Geometry Search tool consists of a dialog box, and shortcut menu commands. Click Flexible Modeling > Geometry Search to open the Geometry Search Tool dialog box. Alternately, select surfaces and surface regions, and right-click and choose Geometry Search from the shortcut menu.
Dialog Box
Search Criteria
Looking for—Specifies the geometry type of the surfaces or surface regions to look for.
Chamfer type—Shows the type of chamfer surfaces or surface regions to look for.
Round type—Shows the type of round surfaces or surface regions to look for.
Parameters
Parameters field—Opens a list of parameters that you can add or remove from a geometry search.
Parameters list—Lists the parameters that are included in the search.
—Links the parameter to the reference surface, so that if the reference surface changes, the parameter in the search will also change. Disables any value fields associated with the parameter because the reference surface drives the parameter. Available when a reference surface is selected.
—Unlinks the parameter from the reference surface, so that if the reference surface changes, the parameter remains the same. Value fields associated with the parameter remain active. Available when a reference surface is selected.
—Remove the parameter from the search.
References collector—Displays surfaces and surface regions that have been selected as references for the search.
Found Geometry collector—Shows the geometry that the search identifies as meeting the search criteria.
Actions
Query options—Opens the options to save the search or open a search.
Use as query in active feature—When you open the Geometry Search Tool while another Creo Flexible Modeling tool is open, saves the geometry that is selected in the Found Geometry list to the active collector of the Creo Flexible Modeling feature that is being created or edited, and closes the Geometry Search Tool dialog box.
Save query to file—Saves the query as a .gqry file.
Load query from file—Retrieves a query that was saved previously.
Search—Searches for surfaces and surface regions that meet the search criteria.
Select—Adds the geometry that is selected in the Found Geometry list to the selection, and closes the dialog box. Available when at least one item is selected.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window when surfaces or surface regions are selected to access shortcut menu commands.
Geometry Search—Opens the Geometry Search Tool dialog box.
