Description
Moldability
Moldability result shows the ease of filling plastic melt in a region in a cavity that is under conventional injection molding conditions.
Good—The melt fills the region completely. The melt front temperature is much higher than the frozen temperature.
Medium—It may be difficult to fill the region and the part can have quality problems. The melt front temperature is slightly higher than the freeze temperature.
Low—It is difficult to fill the region and the part can have quality problems. The melt front temperature is close to the freeze temperature.
Melt Front Time
Melt Front Time result shows the flow pattern with respect to time during the filling process.
Air Trap
Air Trap result shows the possible locations where the air trap could occur. An air trap is formed by converging melt fronts trapping a small bubble of air. It may occur at multiple locations inside the cavity.
Weld Line
Weld Line result shows the weld lines that indicate potential spots of weaker structure. The darker the weld line, the weaker the structure.
Sink Mark
Sink mark is a depression on the surface of a molded part. Although sink marks do not affect the part strength or function, they are perceived to be serious quality defects. The sink mark occurs when the inside plastic shrinks and the solidified surface layer deforms due to inner pressure of shrinkage at the cooling process.
Sink mark result shows the possible sink mark displacement across the entire cavity surface. A higher value indicates a high degree of sink. You can eliminate sink mark by decreasing the filling time to compensate the plastic shrink.
Pressure
Pressure result shows the pressure distribution of the plastic at the end of filling.
Temperature
Temperature result shows the temperature distribution of the plastic at the end of filling.
Maximum Shear Rate
This result shows the recorded peak value of the shear rate of each element during the filling process.
Shear rate is the rate of shear deformation of the material while processing the polymer. Shear rate distribution is related to the variation of the velocity gradient and molecular orientation. High shear rate tends to deform the molecular chains drastically. It can even break and weaken the strength of the part. You should observe viscous heating due to high shear rate.
Maximum Shear Stress
This result shows the recorded peak value of shear stress of each element during the filling process.
You can use this result to determine if the maximum shear stress in the finished part exceeds the maximum allowed shear stress.
Frozen Layer Ratio
Frozen Layer Ratio result shows the volume percentage of the frozen plastic with respect to part thickness at the end of filling.
Maximum Cooling Time
This result shows the maximum cooling time in the thickness direction of the part. This is an estimated value based on the filling result. This provides a direction for cooling channel layout of mold design.
Velocity Vector
Velocity Vector result shows the velocity vector of the plastic melt at the end of filling.
Volumetric Shrinkage
Volumetric shrinkage result shows the distribution of the percentage change in the part volume as the part is cooled from high temperature and high pressure to ambient temperature and ambient pressure at the end of filling.
Gate Contribution
The gate contribution result shows the volume contribution from the injected plastic melt of each gate at the end of filling. The result values show as percentage. A balanced gate contribution is needed for obtaining optimized results.
Fiber Orientation
The fiber orientation result shows the orientation distribution within the plastic melt.
Material Orientation
The material orientation result shows the orientation vector distribution of the plastic melt.
Sprue Pressure Plot
The sprue pressure plot is a graph of the sprue pressure versus the filling time.
Clamping Force Plot
The clamping force plot is a graph of the clamping force versus the filling time.
Flow Rate Plot
The flow rate plot is a graph of the summation of the flow rate all the gates versus the filling time.
