Right-click the datum feature symbol, click Change Reference from the shortcut menu. The datum feature symbol is not detached from the current position. A replica of the datum feature symbol is produced that you can move with the pointer and attach it to the required location. The currently available datum feature symbol is removed from the attached position when the datum feature symbol is re-attached.
