To Define Mill Surface as Machinable Surface
1. Click Mill Surface > Machinable Area Reference. The Machinable Area dialog box opens with the following elements:
Machine Srfs—Specify the set of surfaces to be machined.
Check Srfs—Specify the set of surfaces against which gouge checking should be performed.
Tool Radius—Specify the radius of a ball end mill to be used for machining the surfaces.
Tool Axis—Specify the tool axis orientation using a plane, edge, axis, or coordinate system.
Srf Option—Specify which subset of surfaces you want to keep:
Find Millable Area—Keep the surfaces that can be milled with the selected tool.
Find Remaining Area—Keep the surfaces that cannot be milled with the selected tool (for subsequent milling with a different tool).
2. Define the: Machine Srfs, Check Srfs, Tool Radius, and Tool Axis elements. Note that by default, Srf Option is defined as Find Millable Area.
3. Click Preview to view the Mill surface. Click OK if you are satisfied with the mill surface.
