To Adjust Cut Motion Ends
1. Ensure that you have created a turn profile. You can extend or trim the ends of a cut motion using specific options on the Profile Turning Cut, Area Turning Cut, or Groove Turning Cut dialog box. You can access it while creating a profile, area, or groove turning sequence.
2. Select the Options to extend or trim the ends of a cut motion:
Start—Type a value to place the start point of the cut motion at the start of the defined turn profile or select a reference plane, coordinate system, or surface to measure the start point.
To adjust the start point directly in the graphics window, type the offset value in the Start label or move the start point along the defined trajectory.
End—Type a value to identify the end point of the cut motion at the end of the defined turn profile or select a reference plane, coordinate system, or surface to measure the end point.
To adjust the end point directly in the graphics window, type the offset value in the End label or move the end point along the defined trajectory.
A positive value for the start or end point means that the offset is to the positive side of the surface away from the solid material.
3. When you move the start or the end point along the defined trajectory, the point follows the pointer along the cut motion, if trimmed, and is tangent to the first segment if extended.
By default the adjustment is from the end point of the turn profile. To change the offset reference to a coordinate system, surface, or a feature, activate the Start or End reference collector and select the desired reference. The offset is now measured from the selected reference.
