To Adjust a Turn Profile
You can trim or replace portions of a Turn Profile, for example, to eliminate undercut regions or to simplify avoiding small grooves.
1. Select the turn profile from the graphics window or from the model tree, right-click, and select from the shortcut menu. The selected turn profile is highlighted in yellow color and the turn profile dashboard appears.
2. You can adjust the turn profile using the options on the shortcut menu that appears when you select a point or vertex on the turn profile and right-click.
3. To change the start or end point of the turn profile, drag the start or end point to the desired location along the turn profile. Alternatively, select the desired start or end point on the turn profile, right-click, and select Set as Start Point or Set as End Point on the context menu respectively.
4. On the Turn Profile dashboard click the Profile panel. The list of segments, that form the turn profile are displayed. By default, the entire turn profile is created as a single segment.
5. Click to create a new segment between the start point of the profile and the first corner or node on the turn profile.
6. To adjust the size of a segment, click the start or end point of the segment and drag it to the required location on the turn profile.
7. To modify the shape of the segment, choose one of the following options from the corresponding Type drop-down menu on the Profile panel of the Turn Profile dashboard:
Line Connect—Create a straight line connecting the From and To points of the selected segment.
Trim in Z—Trim the segment to the current location of the From and To points in the Z direction. The previous the next segments are automatically adjusted to keep the profile continuous.
Trim in X—Trim the segment to the current location of the From and To points in the X direction. The previous and next segments are automatically adjusted to keep the profile continuous.
Trim to Corner—Extend two segments of the Turn Profile at selected To points until they form a corner.
8. To create more segments, click as many times as required. The subsequent segments are created between the end point of the previous segment and the next corner or node on the turn profile.
9. To delete a segment, select the segment from the list on the Profile panel, press the right mouse button, and select Remove from the context menu. The start point of the previous segment and the end points of the next segment are automatically adjusted to make the profile continuous.
10. To delete all the segments in the turn profile, select Remove All from the context menu.
11. When satisfied with the adjustments, click .
