The Finish Cuts Dialog Box
The Finish Cuts dialog box displays the stock value left on the feature Hard Walls after rough milling. This value is displayed for information purposes. It shows you how much stock you have to remove by finish milling.
The middle portion of the dialog box lets you set up the number of finish cuts and the stepover increments for each cut. For example, you can set up your finish cuts as follows:
Last Cut 1 at 0
Second Cut 2 at .05
First Cut 1 at .1
The tool will then make the first finish cut at an offset of .2 from the feature walls, the second cut at .1, the third cut at .05, and the final cut at 0.
The bottom portion of the dialog box lets you specify the depth of the finish cuts:
Each Depth—The finish cuts will be made at each cutting depth (at the depth of each slice). If you select the Last Cut at Final Depth checkbox, then the last cut will be made at final depth only.
Final Depth—The finish cuts will be made once, at the final cutting depth of the feature.
Keller Walls—If your feature has slanted walls, you can specify the desired Scallop Height value, and the system will make finish cuts at the appropriate depths. This option is available only if you are not performing rough milling in this tool path; that is, if the Rough option is cleared in the feature machining dialog box.
