About the Search or Filter of the Model Tree Nodes
A search box is available on the Model Tree for the search or filter of the Model Tree nodes.
You can select the Simple Search check box from the list on the Model Tree to hide or show the search box.
You can switch between the filter and the search options that are available adjacent to the search box on the Model Tree.
— Searches for nodes on the Model tree and highlights the found nodes on the tree without filtering them.
— Filters nodes on the Model Tree and highlights the filtered nodes on the Model Tree. This option is active by default.
The Dynamic Filter/Search check box is selected by default and you can dynamically filter or search the Model Tree nodes based on the following criteria:
Text
Conditions
Query types
Wild cards
Tree Column values
When you select the Dynamic Filter/Search check box and start typing the filter criteria in the search box, the corresponding Model Tree nodes are highlighted in green. Pressing Enter to initiate the filter or search is not necessary.
Right-click in the search box to clear the selection of Dynamic Filter/Search and press Enter to filter or search the Model Tree nodes.
The Highlight in Graphics option is only available in the Assembly mode. The Highlight in Graphics check box is selected by default. The filtered or searched Model Tree component nodes are highlighted in green in the graphics window. If you do not want to highlight the searched or filtered components in the graphics window, right-click in the search box to clear the selection of the Highlight in Graphics check box.
You can filter the nodes using the Tree Columns values. The columns that you select in the Model Tree Columns dialog box, are displayed as columns on the shortcut menu when you right-click in the search box. On the shortcut menu, select the column with which you want to filter or search the Model Tree nodes.
You can use the following options on the shortcut menu that opens when you click the search box list to search or filter the Model Tree nodes:
Recently used queries — Displays the queries that you recently specified in the search box. This list of recently-used queries is initially not available. It is available only after you perform an initial search.
Queries by type — Is visible, depending on the Creo mode.
Queries by state — Includes the list of default queries.
You can use multiple default queries or combination of manual and default queries to search for nodes. You can use wildcards with text for search or filter.
The search results are the same for the following query types:
ABC, *ABC*, "*ABC*" — Search nodes that contain ABC.
ABC*, "ABC*" — Search nodes that start with ABC.
ABC*CDE*, "ABC*CDE*" — Search nodes that starts with ABC and includes CDE.
*ABC, "*ABC" — Search nodes that end with ABC.
*ABC*CDE, "*ABC*CDE" — Search nodes that include ABC and end with CDE.
*ABC*CDE*, "*ABC*CDE*" — Search nodes that include ABC and CDE.
ABC*CDE, "ABC*CDE" — Search nodes that start with ABC and end with CDE.
ABC*CDE*EFE, "ABC*CDE*EFE" — Search nodes that begin with ABC, include CDE, and end with EFE.
Click in the search box to clear queries and their result.
Click next to the search box to add the found nodes to the selection buffer. The option is available only when nodes are found.
