To Manipulate Textures from the Model Appearance Editor
1. On the View tab, click the arrow below Appearances. The appearance gallery opens.
2. Select the required appearance from the Model palette, right-click, and select Edit, or click Edit Model Appearances. The Model Appearance Editor dialog box opens.
3. On the Bump tab, select Image or Procedural Image from the box, and click the swatch to specify the image to be used for the bump map.
* Use the Texture and Decal tabs to place the color and decal textures.
4. Select and pick a surface that has a textured appearance applied to it.
5. Change the bump height as needed.
6. Select a projection for the selected surface or surfaces from the Typebox.
The mapping type is synchronized across bump, texture, and decal. For example, if you change the mapping type for bump from Planar to Spherical, the mapping type for texture and decal also changes to Spherical.
Changing the mapping type does not affect the placement parameters.
A frame and a sphere with direct manipulation controls do not appear for the Parametric mapping type or in the non-shaded display mode.
7. If required, click and select a new coordinate system. The frame and the sphere with direct manipulation controls reorient themselves and the new coordinate system is the center of the sphere or aim point.
8. Click to switch between single or multiple copies. If you select multiple copies, the texture map is repeated across the object or surface.
* For Cylindrical and Spherical mapping types, a value of 1.000 for single implies that one copy of the texture covers 180 degrees of the map, while a value of 1.000 for multiple implies that two copies of the texture cover 360 degrees of the map.
