Scenario 2: To Assemble a Component from the Windchill Database

* To interact with the Windchill server from Creo, you must register the server with Creo.
1. Create a new assembly in Creo.
2. Use one of the following ways to locate and assemble a component:
Using the Folder navigator
In the Folder navigator, click to expand the Cabinets node. Navigate to the component. Locate the component and click Open.
Using Insert > Component > Assemble
Click Insert > Component > Assemble. The Open dialog box shows the contents of the active workspace. Using the Look In list, navigate to the Windchill Cabinets. Locate the desired component and drag the file name into the graphics window.
Using the search tool
Click to open a search tool in the navigator. Specify the location (Windchill Cabinets), object type (Creo model), and any of the attributes (for example, the model name using wildcards). Click Search. Review the results, find the desired component, and drag the file name into the graphics window.
3. After you assemble the component, you can continue to add more components.
4. When finished, check in the assembly to the Windchill database using the File > Check In > Custom Check In command. Select a destination folder for your assembly.
