Using Assemblies as Components
When you have an assembly, such as a heat sink or fan housing, it must be a child of the primary PCB assembly. It is assembled as a subassembly, but is viewed as a single component within the ECAD space. Thus it must have an ECAD_NAME and an ECAD_ALT_NAME for proper mapping to and from the ECAD application.
