To Open a Non-Native CAD Document
1. Register the Windchill 9.1 or later server in the Creo application.
2. Click File > Open. The Common Folders in the File Open dialog box lists the Windchill cabinets and the active workspace.
3. Browse to one of the following locations on the WWGM server in the Look In list:
The active or the inactive workspace or the commonspace of the primary server.
The active or the inactive workspace or the commonspace of a secondary server.
4. Set Type to one of the following file types:
All Files (*)
Unigraphics File (*.prt)
CATIA V5 CATPart (*.CATPart) or CATIA V5 CATProduct (*.CATProduct)
Creo Elements Direct *.sdp part instance, *.sda assembly instance, *.sdpc part content, or *.sdac assembly content file
SolidWorks Part (*.sldprt) or SolidWorks Assembly (*.sldasm)
5. Select the file to import. You are prompted to open the selected file as a part or an assembly.
6. Click Import. The Import New Model dialog box opens. The Enable ATB option is selected by default. If autonumbering is enabled, File name displays the model name with the automatically generated value from Windchill.
7. Click OK. The CATIA V5, Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, SolidWorks, or the NX model opens as a Translated Image Model (TIM) identified by its characteristic icon on the Model Tree.
