About Generating Difference Reports for Assemblies with Intended Changes
Windchill allows you to add, delete, or reposition the components of assemblies. However, before an assembly regenerates in a Creo application to include the server modifications, you can generate a comparison report for the assembly on Windchill with the intended changes.
You can generate a comparison report for the different configurations of an assembly CAD Document. You can compare the changes of the assembly model in session since the start of the session. You can compare the current work in progress and session changes to the assembly model with the latest iteration of the released version of the assembly CAD Document on the server. The report identifies the deleted, inserted, and moved components of the assembly. It presents a summary of the changes in session since the start of the session, summarizing all component-level changes. The report can also present the changes of the assembly model in session compared to the latest released version on the server.
You can generate comparison reports for assemblies and their drawings in Windchill and the Creo applications as follows:
The information page of the CAD Documents for a comparison of the version history.
As part of the custom check in of the assembly CAD Documents with the added, deleted, and moved components.
As part of the analysis of assemblies in a Creo application, during a feature-based comparison of the assembly components.
The View Changes dialog box displays the reports when the assembly model in comparison has intended changes that you must accept or reject. You can check out an assembly CAD Document with the added, deleted, and moved components and perform a custom check in of the assembly with Attach Differences Report specified in the Check In dialog box. A difference report is automatically generated for the current commonspace iteration of the checked out assembly and is attached as the secondary content of the assembly CAD Document that is checked in to the server.
