About Converting Drawing Annotations to 3D Model Annotations
You can use the Annotation Converter on the Legacy Migration tab to convert drawing annotations to 3D model annotations. After the conversion, annotation elements are created in the 3D model corresponding to the drawing annotations.
You can convert the following types of drawing annotations to 3D annotations:
Drawing geometric tolerances that reference a 3D model
Dimensions owned by the 3D model that are shown in the drawing
Dimensions that are owned by the drawing
General notes associated with a view
Symbols except the shown weld symbols
Saved view orientations are created in the 3D model to match the orientation of the view from where the annotation elements are created. A detailed report of the conversion is generated and displayed in a tabular format in the Annotation Converter Report dialog box. The conversion report displays the status of the conversion, the reasons for the conversion failure, and lists drawing and solid annotations, views, annotation types, drawing sheets, and the target solids. You can use the filters provided for each item in the table heading to filter data. Click Save Report in the Annotation Converter Report dialog box to save the report to a .csv file.
