To Structure the Display of 3D Annotations
1. Open a drawing to convert its annotations to 3D model annotations and also define a structure for the display of the converted annotations.
2. Click Legacy Migration > Annotation Converter > Annotation Converter or right-click the drawing and click Annotation Converter. The Create Annotation Elements dialog box opens.
3. Select the drawing annotations and click options to convert the selected annotations to model annotations.
4. Click Options in the Create Annotation Elements dialog box to define a structure for the display of the converted annotations. The Annotation Converter Options dialog box opens.
5. Select one of the following options from the Group annotations by list:
Type—Groups the annotations by type. A single annotation feature is individually created for each drawing annotation type after conversion.
View—Groups the annotations by views. A single annotation feature is individually created for each view that contains drawing annotations.
Model—Groups the annotations by model. A single annotation feature is individually created for each model that contains drawing annotations.
6. Select the following options in the Parameter options area to create parameters for the annotation elements:
Include drawing—Creates a parameter with the drawing name for the converted annotation element.
Include drawing view—Creates a parameter with the drawing view name for the converted annotation element.

* Creating parameters for the annotation elements helps you identify the source of the annotation elements in the drawing.
7. Click Show in drawing in the Show options area to display the converted model annotations in the drawing.
Drawing annotations that were initially visible are hidden in the drawing.
Drawing annotations of type driven dimensions are associated with the 3D model annotation but lose the associated breaks, jogs, or skews.
The display of driving dimensions remain unchanged. The driving dimensions are not associated with the corresponding 3D model annotations. Such annotations retain the associated jogs or breaks.
8. Click Set as Default to set the current settings as the default for the current session.
9. Click OK to save the settings and return to the Create Annotation Elements dialog box or click Close to return to the Create Annotation Elements dialog box without saving the settings.
