About Importing the Detail Views of Creo Elements/Direct Associative Drawings
A detail view shows a specific area of an existing view to provide more clarity. When you import *.mi, *.bi, or *.bdl drawing files, the detail views that are present in the Creo Elements/Direct drawings are imported to Creo Parametric. If you select the Drawing Associative with 3D Model option under VIEWS in the MI Import dialog box, the details views of the drawings that are associative with the 3D models are transferred as associative 3D views.
The detail views of the Creo Elements/Direct drawings are imported with the following types of boundaries:
Rectangular
Circular
Polygonal
Splines
During the import of the*.mi, *.bi, or *.bdl drawing files with details views, the rectangular and polygonal boundary types of the detail views in the Creo Elements/Direct drawings are converted to splines as Creo Parametric only supports circular and spline boundaries. In addition to the boundaries of the detail views, the cross-sections of the detail views are imported. The centerlines of the axis that are attached to the detail views are imported with proper placement. The original orientation of the detail views in the Creo Elements/Direct drawings before import are preserved in the drawings after import in Creo Parametric.
