To Import a Creo View File
1. Click File > Open. The File Open dialog box opens.
2. Select Creo View (.ol, .ed, .edz, .pvs, .pvz) in the Type box.
3. Select the Creo View file that you want to import.
4. Click Import. The Import New Model dialog box opens with the model Type set to Part or Assembly, depending on the file-type selected.
5. Retain the import profile in use or select an existing *.dip_creoview import profile in the Profile list. You can click Details to open the import profile editor, Creo View — Import Profile, and customize the import profile options, if required.
6. Click OK in the Import New Model dialog box. The import log file is automatically generated in the working directory. A part or an assembly is created depending on the file type:
Creo View.ol files create parts.
Creo View.ed and .pvs files provide the option to import as parts or assemblies. By default, they create assemblies.
Creo View.edz and .pvz files are uncompressed in a temporary folder to the respective .ed and .pvs formats. They are then imported just as .ed and .pvs files.
