To Export a Drawing to PDF as a Publish Deliverable
1. Open a drawing and click File > Save As > Export. The Export Setup tab opens.
2. Click Configure > PDF on the Export Setup tab.
3. Click Settings to edit the export settings of the drawing. The PDF Export Settings dialog box opens.
4. Select a profile for the export in Profile.
The PDF Export Settings dialog box has the following tabbed pages:
General—Sets the sheet range, color, resolution for the shaded images, a style for the hidden lines, and print settings for the PDF document.
Content—Specifies contents, such as hyperlinks, layers, parameters, fonts, and structures in the form of bookmarks in the PDF output. Also provides the standard PDF or the PDF-A/1 format.
Security—Restricts opening the PDF file and performing viewer operations, such as printing and copying.
Description—Provides descriptive information for the PDF document, such as title, author, subject, and keywords.
5. If you do not want to use the profile in use for the export, click Load Profile and select a stored 2D PDF export profile from the profiles directory.
6. Click Save Profile to save the settings on the PDF Export Settings dialog box as a 2D PDF export profile to the default profiles directory or folder or the working directory.
7. Click OK on the PDF Export Settings dialog box to save the export settings.
 
* You cannot preview the drawing with its export settings as Preview is not available for the PDF(*.pdf) publish deliverable.
8. Click Export on the Finish tab. The Save a Copy dialog box opens with Type set to PDF(*.pdf).
 
* You cannot change the file type.
9. Accept the default name in New file name or type a new file name for the export.
10. Browse and select a folder for the exported drawing.
11. Click OK in the Save a Copy dialog box to export the drawing as a PDF(*.pdf) publish deliverable.
12. Click Close Export Setup on the Done tab.
If a dialog box prompts you to substitute fonts that are not embedded in the PDF-A/1 files, click OK every time the dialog box opens for each font that is not embedded in the PDF-A/1 files.
