To Create a Configurable Module from an Existing Assembly
1. Open the assembly to save as a configurable module.
2. Click File > Save As > Save as Configurable Module. The Save a Copy dialog box opens.
3. Type a file name for the assembly and click OK. The Assembly Save as Configurable Module Component Chooser dialog box opens.
4. Select a component in the Chooser Tree or select the cell in the Action column and choose an option.
Save a Copy—Saves a copy of the component.
Reuse—Reuses the component in the configurable product.
Remove on Save as—Removes occurrences of a component assembled more than once.
Save as Configurable Product—Saves the component as a configurable product.
Save as Configurable Module—Saves the component as a configurable module.
 
* The last two options are available for the top level assembly.
5. Click Save Copy.
