About Mirroring Components inside an Assembly
You can create a mirrored copy of a component in an assembly. These copies are mirrored about a planar reference. There are two types of mirrored copies:
Geometry only—Creates a mirrored merge of the original part geometry.
Geometry with features—Creates a mirrored copy of the geometry and features of the original part. The geometry of the target component does not update when the original part is modified.
When mirroring components, you can control the dependency of the new component on the original. A dependent mirrored component automatically updates when the original component geometry, its placement, or both is modified.
Symmetry Analysis
When you mirror a part in an assembly, you can perform a symmetry analysis to identify and reuse symmetric and anti-symmetric or twin, mirror, components. This will eliminate the need to create new mirrored components.
