To Set Collision Detection Settings
Collision detection settings can be set in Assembly and Mechanism Design.
1. Click File > Prepare > Model Properties. The Model Properties dialog box opens.
2. Click change in the Collision Detection line. The Collision Detection dialog box opens.
3. Set a General option during drag operations.
No collision detection—Performs no collision detection and enables a smooth dragging even in case of collision.
Global collision detection—Checks for any kind of collision in the entire assembly and indicates it according to the option chosen.
Partial collision detection—Specifies the parts between which to check for collision. You are prompted you to select parts. Press and hold CTRL to select more than one part.
4. Select Include quilts to include surfaces as a part of the collision check only during global or partial collision detection.
5. Select Optional settings to choose settings for each type of collision detection. These settings are only active for Partial collision detection or Global collision detection when the enable_advance_collision configuration option is set to yes.
Stop when colliding—Stops movement if there is a collision.
Highlight interfering volumes—Highlights the interfering entities. The default when the configuration option is set to no.
Push objects upon collision—Shows the effect of the collision.
 
* In large assemblies with many bodies, the advanced collision detection options can cause very slow movement of the assembly.
6. Select Sound warning upon collision to sound a warning bell upon collision. This box is available only for the Global collision detection and Partial collision detection options.
7. Click OK.
