To Copy and Paste an Assembly Feature
Copying an Assembly Feature
Select the feature in the Model Tree or Graphics window, right-click, and select Copy. The feature is copied to the clipboard.
Pasting a New Copy of the Feature
1. Right-click and select or click Model > Paste. When you paste a feature that removes material, the Intersected Components dialog box opens.
2. Click OK. The feature tab opens.
3. Define feature placement and other options.
4. Click OK.
Pasting a Dependent Copy of a Feature
1. To paste a dependent copy of the feature, right-click and select or click the arrow next to Paste and click Paste Special. The Paste Special dialog box opens.
2. The Dependent copy check box is selected by default. You can choose one of the following options:
Fully dependent with options to vary
Partially dependent – Dimensions and AE Details only
3. Click OK. When you paste a feature that removes material, the Intersected Components dialog box opens.
4. Click OK. The feature tab opens.
5. Define placement of the copied feature and click .
6. To paste a moved or rotated copy of the feature, click Apply move/rotate transformations to copies and click OK. The Move (Copy) tab opens.
7. To move the component in relation to a selected reference, click or click Transformations and select Move from the Settings list.
8. To rotate the component about the selected reference, click or click Transformations and select Rotate from the Settings list.
9. Click . When you paste a feature that removes material, the Intersected Components dialog box opens.
10. Click OK. The feature is copied to the new location.
11. To redefine placement references for the copied feature, click Advanced reference configuration. The Advanced Reference Configuration dialog box opens.
12. Select a reference in the References of original features list.
13. To use the same placement reference, click the Use original reference check box.
14. Select a different placement reference when required.
15. Click . When you paste a feature that removes material, the Intersected Components dialog box opens.
16. Click OK. When placement references are not completely defined, the feature tab opens.
17. Define placement references and click .
