To Replace a Subassembly
1. Select the subassembly to replace using either of the methods below:
Click Framework, and then in the Subassemblies group click Replace. The Replace Subassembly dialog box opens. Click the Subassembly to Replace box and in the model, select a project subassembly to replace.
Select a project subassembly in the model that you want to replace. Click Framework, and then in the Subassemblies group click Replace or right-click and select Framework > Replace. The Replace Subassembly dialog box opens.
2. Under Replace Type select one of the following options to define how to replace the project subassembly:
Existing instance —Replace with an existing instance
Copy of itself —Replace with a copy of itself
3. If you are selecting the existing reference project subassembly for replacement, click the Reference Subassembly box and in the model, select a project subassembly part. A preview of the replaced project subassembly is displayed.
4. If you are replacing the project subassembly with a copy of itself, the Copy Component Definition dialog box opens.
5. If the Copy Component Definition dialog box opens, you can change names as described below:
In the Name box, you can change the name of the copied subassembly.
Under Components, you can select a check box under Copy and then change the name for the selected subcomponent.
Click OK to complete the copy.
6. Click one of the options listed below to continue:
OK to complete project subassembly replacement and close the dialog box.
Repeat to complete project subassembly replacement without closing the dialog box and then continue with the replacement of another project subassembly.
Cancel to cancel the project subassembly replacement and close the dialog box.
