To Copy, Move, Mirror, or Pattern Bodies
You can perform copy, move, mirror, or pattern operations on bodies. Shortcut commands for these operations are listed below. Get more information by clicking the link for each operation.
When you copy, move with copy, mirror, or pattern bodies in a part, a new body is created for each source body. Each new body is associative with the geometry of the source body, but is not associative with the other properties of the source body.
Copy
To copy bodies, perform any of the following actions:
• In the Model Tree or graphics window, right-click the bodies and select
Copy to copy them onto the clipboard. Then right-click and select
Paste.
• Select the bodies, and click > to copy them onto the clipboard. Then click > .
• Select the bodies and press CTRL + C, and then press CTRL + V.
Move
To move bodies, perform any of the following actions:
• In the Model Tree or graphics window, click the bodies to move, and select
Move Geometry.
• Select the bodies, and click > to copy them onto the clipboard. Then click > .
• Select the bodies and press CTRL + C, and then press CTRL + SHIFT + V.
During the move, you can also choose to copy the bodies. This creates new bodies, and the move is applied to the new bodies instead of the source bodies.
Mirror
To mirror bodies, perform any of the following actions:
• In the Model Tree or graphics window, click the bodies and select
Mirror.
• Select the bodies and click > .
Pattern
To pattern bodies, perform any of the following actions:
• In the Model Tree or graphics window, click the bodies and select
Geometry Pattern.
• Select the bodies, and click > > .
