About the Solidify Feature User Interface
The Solidify tab consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Select a quilt or surface geometry to solidify, and then click > to open the Solidify tab.
Commands
• Type
◦ Fill With Solid—Creates solid volume using the selected quilt.
◦ Remove Material—Removes material using the selected quilt or datum plane.
◦ Replace Surface—Patches the selected quilt to a solid.
• Settings
◦ Material Side—Changes the side of the modified geometry.
Tabs
• References
◦ Quilt collector—Displays the quilt or datum plane to solidify.
• Body Options
◦ Add geometry to body—Displayed when geometry is added (
Fill With Solid is selected).
▪ Create new body check box—Creates the geometry in a new body.
▪ Body collector
▪ Selects the body to which geometry is added. The default body is displayed, but you can select a different body.
▪ Shows the name of the new body when you create the geometry in a new body.
◦ Cut geometry from body—Displayed when geometry is removed (
Remove Material is selected).
▪ All—Cuts geometry from all the bodies that the feature passes through.
▪ Selected—Cuts geometry from the selected bodies. The default body is displayed, but you can select a different body or bodies.
▪ Body collector—Displays the body from which geometry is removed.
◦ Apply to body—Displayed when the quilt or surface meets the solidify (patch) feature conditions (
Replace Surface is selected).
▪ Body collector—Selects the body whose surfaces will be replaced by the reference quilt.
• Properties
◦ Name box—Sets a name for a feature.
◦ —Displays detailed component information in a browser.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access shortcut menu commands.
• Add Material—Creates solid volume using the selected quilt.
• Remove Material—Removes material using the selected quilt or datum plane.
• Patch—Patches the selected quilt to a solid.
• Clear—Clears the selected reference from the active collector.
| At any given time, only one of the Add Material, Remove Material, and Patch commands can be selected. |
Click the direction arrow to change the side of the modified geometry.
Right-click the direction arrow to access shortcut menu commands.
• Flip—Changes the side of the modified geometry.
