What is the benefit of this enhancement?
You might have a design that needs an analysis for tolerance stackups in one–dimension (1-D). With this information you can ensure that specific areas of concern are maintained within the acceptable variation range for mechanical fit and performance as designed.
Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis is a new application that is developed by Sigmetrix that you can use to create and manage multiple one–dimensional tolerance stackup analyses more easily than you could with the older TAE.
While defining the 1–D stackup, start by setting the area that you want to evaluate. EZ Tolerance Analysis then takes into account the relevant components, surfaces, assembly constraints, and the GD&T (geometric modeling and tolerancing) for the 1–D stackup from the existing model. Then, in the graphics window, components are highlighted so that you can see the tolerance loop that is created.
You no longer need to manually define the stackup loop. If you prefer to do so, or if no suitable model constrains path are found, you can easily define the loop path with the enhanced transparency-based guidance of the application.
After the stackup is defined, a dashboard table is generated. The table summarizes the details of the stackup. You can then set the statistical quality metric that you prefer for the analysis. After the stackup analysis is complete, you can export it or generate a full HTML report with the snapshots embedded, and with the stackups, results, and contribution graphs.
In more complex cases, a one-dimensional stackup analysis might be not enough. This is due to concerns that during production, the design might have additional variations that need to be taken into account. Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis flags such cases and advises performing an advanced analysis to get a better understanding on how the design reacts.
Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis removes the need to work with spreadsheets that require manual input, which might result in errors.
In earlier releases of Creo Parametric, both Tolerance Analysis Extension and Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis are available. In Creo Parametric 7.0.0.0 and later, only Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis is available and TAE is retired. To convert your legacy TAE data to Creo EZ Tolerance Analysis, on the EZ Tolerance tab, click Convert TAE to import the Tolerance Analysis Extension data.
