To Create a Projected Feature by Selecting Chains
1. In the graphics window, select one or more curves or chains to project.
2. Click > 
Project. The Project tab opens.

4. Select Project chains from the list.
5. Click the Surfaces collector, and in the graphics window, click surfaces of one or more bodies, or quilts, or datum planes, on which to project the sketch or chains.
6. Click the Direction Reference collector and select a plane, an axis, an axis of a coordinate system, or a straight entity to use as the projection direction reference.
7. In the Direction box on the Project tab, select the projection direction:
◦ Along direction—Projects the curve along a specified direction.
◦ Normal to surface—Projects the curve normal to the curve plane or a specified plane or surface.
8. Click 
OK. The sketched curve is projected onto the selected surface.
