To Define Temperature Loads—Topology Optimization
1. Click Home > Load > Temperature. The Structural Temperature Load dialog box opens.
2. Enter a name for the load, or use the default name. Click the color swatch next to Name if you want to change the color of the constraint icon.
3. Select an existing load set from the Member of Set area, or click New to create a new load set.
4. If you did not select a geometric reference before opening the Structural Temperature Load dialog box, select the entity now. The References collector shows the selected entities.
5. To define the load distribution, under Spatial Variation, select an option:
Uniform—The load is uniformly distributed over the entity.
Function Of Coordinates—Click to select an existing function or create a new function. The temperature load distribution varies as per the defined function. The function is multiplied by Value to calculate the entity temperature.
6. Under Value, enter a value.
For a uniform spatial variation, specify the desired temperature for the entity. You can enter a real number or an expression incorporating Creo Parametric parameters.
For a function of coordinates, the function is multiplied by the value to calculate the temperature.
7. Under Reference Temperature, specify the zero stress temperature of the referenced region in your model. The reference temperature is the stress-free temperature of the model. It could be room temperature or some other temperature that is the normal or no load temperature of the model.
The difference between the entity temperature and the reference temperature is the amount of temperature change over the referenced region of the model.
