To Define Convection Condition
1. Click Home > Convection Condition. The Convection Condition dialog box opens.
2. Type a name for the boundary condition or accept the default name.
3. Select an existing boundary condition set from the Member of Set list, or click New to display the BC Set Definition dialog box and create a new boundary condition set.
4. Select the type of references and then select valid geometrical entities as References. If you selected the geometric entity before opening the Convection Condition dialog box, the References collector displays your selection when you open the Convection Condition dialog box.
5. Click Advanced to display the Spatial Variation and Temperature Dependence options of the Convection Coefficient (h), and Spatial Variation and Temporal Variation options of the Bulk Temperature with their default values.
6. Specify the Spatial Variation for Convection Coefficient (h).
7. To define the convection condition as a function of temperature, select Function of Temperature from the Temperature Dependence list. The button appears. Click this button to open the Function Definition dialog box. Define the function over a temperature range.

* If Convection Coefficient (h) is a function of temperature, Bulk Temperature (Tb) cannot be a function of time and vice versa.
8. Type a real number value for the convection coefficient in the Value box. Select units for convection coefficient from the drop-down list or accept the default units.
9. Specify the Spatial Variation for Bulk Temperature (Tb).
10. Select the Function of Time option from the Temporal Variation drop-down list if your applied boundary condition is a function of time. The Convection Condition dialog box expands to display the button. Click this button to open the Function Definition dialog box. Specify the function over the time range.
11. Type a real number value for the bulk temperature in the Value box. Select units for bulk temperature from the drop-down list or accept the default units.
12. Click Preview h to check the spatial variation of convection coefficient.
13. Click Preview Tb to check the spatial variation of bulk temperature.
14. The Load Previewdialog box opens when you click Preview h or Preview Tb to preview an external convection condition in the native mode.  Use the Load Preview dialog box to customize the preview. Click Close on this dialog box to return to the Convection Condition dialog box and complete the convection condition definition.
15. Click OK.
Return to Convection Conditions.
