Workplane properties
Workplane properties control the appearance and properties of an individual workplane or workplane set. To change the default properties for all workplanes, see Change 3D object settings.
To change a workplane's properties,
1. Click Structure and then, in the Workplane group, click More.
2. Click Workplane (under Properties).
3. Select a workplane in the viewport or the Structure Browser.
4. To copy settings from another workplane:
a. Click Copy from. The Copy from dialog box opens.
b. Select the source workplane in the viewport or type the workplane name in Source. The properties of the selected workplane are visible.
c. Select the properties to be copied. You can select the default line type for the geometry lines and the construction lines.
d. Click OK.
5. The Names tab contains the following properties:
Name is the workplane name displayed in the Structure Browser and the instance file name when you save 3D Data files.
Model Name is the contents file name for the workplane when you save 3D Data files.
6. The Appear tab contains border and color properties for the workplane. You can also change the default line type for the geometry lines and the construction lines using the Appear tab.
7. The Geo Resol tab allows you to change the workplane's geometric resolution. This changes the geometric resolution of all parts you create with profiles on this workplane.
8. The Grid tab contains settings for the grid color, type, and size.
9. The Axis tab contains the axis position. To change the axis, click Position, then click a spot in the viewport.
10. The Min Size tab contains the minimum grid size settings. To change these settings, click 1st Point or 2nd Point, then enter two coordinates separated by a comma in the user input line.
1st Point is the upper right corner of the grid.
2nd Point is the lower left corner of the grid.
11. The Statistics tab contains the following properties:
Mark Centroid marks the centroid of 2D geometry on the workplane.
Report (under Measure Properties) displays information about the 2D geometry on the workplane.
Report (under Geometry Properties) displays a summary of the workplane's size and position within the coordinate system. Click Close when you are finished.
Changes are applied as you change properties.
