Face part handling
Face Part Handling settings are a part of View Update settings. To update Face Part Handling settings,
1. Click File > Settings > View 2D > View Update Mode. The Default Settings browser opens with Update Mode settings.
2. Double-click Face Part Handling. You can set the following options:
The Warning option causes Creo Elements/Direct Annotation to report a warning message when it finds face parts in an assembly during a view update, or if the owner of a drawing is a face part.
The Ignore causes Creo Elements/Direct Annotation to ignore face parts during the view update.
The Calculate option causes Creo Elements/Direct Annotation to calculate 2D geometry for face parts during the view update.
*
The view update with face parts can lead to unexpected results with respect to visibility. Face parts in dependent views, like (aligned) section views, detail views, partial views, and cutaways, are only trimmed with respect to the corresponding tool bodies. As a consequence, the face parts do not carry information about hatch faces; detail, partial, or cutaway borders; and inner section edges. Thread and pressfit handling for face parts are completely disabled.
