Dimension auto placement strategy settings
When automatic dimension placement is enabled, Creo Elements/Direct Annotation can perform intersection testing to help ensure that new or repositioned dimensioning does not overlap existing drawing elements. To change the settings for automatic dimension placement,
1. Click File > Settings > Dimension > Dim Auto Place Settings. The Default Settings browser opens with Auto Placement settings.
2. Double-click Strategy.
The Strategy setting specifies the level of intersection checking that is done by Creo Elements/Direct Annotation. The three options are:
Off
Disables intersection testing.
Geo
Checks for intersections with geometry elements only.
Geo+Dim
Checks for intersections with geometry elements and with existing dimensioning.
A higher level of checking increases the time needed for the check. A lower checking level may improve system performance, butit also increases the likelihood that automatically placed dimensions need to be repositioned later. Note that even full intersection testing cannot always avoid overlaps on the drawing.
