To Retrieve a Model Outline Using the Model Size Tool
1. Click > > or click > to measure the model outline in part or assembly mode. The Model Size dialog box opens.
2. Click

, available if the current model is an assembly, to select a model. The name of the selected model appears in
Selected Model box. If the current model is a part, the name is automatically set.
3. Click

to select a coordinate system. The name of the coordinate system appears in
Selected CSYS box.
4. Click

to run an analysis.
5. The bounding box outline and volume is shown in the Calculated Size box. The string format is A x B x LG. The rotational symmetric part outline string is formatted as DM x LG. The gray box displays the volume of the bounding box. The number of digits is defined by the option NR_DIGITS_COMMON.
6. The preview box shows the top and side projections on which the analysis result is based.
7. Click OK to save the model outline as a parameter and close the dialog box, or click Cancel to close the dialog box without saving the results.
