Searching for Assets

In order for an asset to appear in the asset search, the parent Thing or ThingTemplate must implement the TW.RSM.ManagedAsset ThingShape
 
Use the New Search tool to search and filter the list of assets. The following fields are available:
  • My Search—Lists saved searches. You can reuse saved search criteria as part of a new search.
     Note
    Two predefined searches are provided: Alerted and Not Connected.
     
  • Keyword—Full-text search of all string asset data shown in the list. Press Enter after entering a keyword.
  • Asset Type—Search by asset type. For example, ThingTemplates.
  • Add Filter—Perform multi-column queries based on exact or partial matches.
Viewing the List of Assets
The asset list contains the following information:
Column
Description
Connected
Indicates if the asset is connected with the following icons:
  • Image—Connected
  • Image—Not connected
Status
Indicates if the asset has any unacknowledged alerts with the following icons:
  • —Asset does not have any unacknowledged alers.
  • —Asset has at least one unacknowledged alert.
Name
Name of the asset.
Model Number
Model number of the asset.
Serial Number
Serial number of the asset
Asset Type
Type of asset.
Owner
Person/Company assigned to this asset as the owner.
Operator
Person/Company assigned to this asset to monitor operations.
To view the Asset Dashboard for a particular asset you can double-click the asset, or select an asset in the list and click the Image icon. For more information on the Asset Dashboard, see Viewing the Asset Dashboard.
Click Clear to view the full list of assets after completing your search. Click Save to save your search.
